Col Avdhesh Kumar (Retd) is an alumnus of National Defence Academy (NDA) and was commissioned in the Indian Army in 1997. Post an extremely professionally satisfying Army life, he took Pre-Mature Retirement (PMR) in Aug 2021 to pursue his passion for running and teaching.
He is an accomplished runner and have taken part in various Full Marathons including New York Marathon, Big Sur (California), Tata Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai etc.
He is a certified Master Instructor by the founder of ChiRunning & ChiWalking, Danny Dreyer and resides in NCR region.
His aim is to make people aware about ChiWalking & ChiRunning and how they too can increase efficiency and reduce injuries, especially those who are constantly worried about ankle, knee or lower body pains!
As on date, he has conducted several lectures & workshops for runners and physical instructors from Military, Police and various running groups from across the country and has trained more than 2500 persons.
He has conducted regular lecture/workshops at premier institutions like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) Shimla, L&T (Powai, Mumbai), AIIMS (Delhi), Army Institute of Physical Training (AIPT) Pune, Rashtriya India Military College (RIMC) Dehradun, College of Defence Management (CDM) Secunderabad, Madras Engineer Group & Centre Bengaluru, Guards Regimental Centre, Army Air Defence Centre, Rajput Regimental Centre, Officers Training Academy Gaya & Chennai, 39 Gorkha Training Centre, Bihar Police Academy (BPA), Rajgir, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Bhubaneshwar and CISF, Delhi Metro.
He has also conducted lecture & workshops at Patiala, Bhatinda, Akhnoor, BD Bari, Udhampur, Panagarh, Bhuj, Sangrur, Chaubatia, Jodhpur, Nasirabad, Bikaner, Ratnu Chak, Amritsar, Mumbai, Panagarh, Namkum, Gurez, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bhopal and Delhi.
Post his workshops, runners have been able to reduce, prevent and recover faster from injuries. Runners of all ages and levels have improved their efficiency and performance, and now find running to be pain-free, easier, and enjoyable.
